And.. I am Back!

It’s been too long that I have been missing around here! I know! I actually wrote two posts in between, didn’t have the time to complete it and wanted to save it as draft. But the new WordPress layout kept saying “Saving” for a really long time and then I closed the window, only to see the posts weren’t saved at all! 😮 Can someone please tell me how do I go back to old classic WordPress layout? Is there such an option? 😦

A lot has happened in the time that went by. Let me start with the latest and most important news. We moved!! 🙂 Yay! We shifted to the new house last Wednesday. After days and days of us packing, the  Movers & Packers guys had so much more left to pack! They made two trips to shift everything and put everything in the respective floors. But the bad part was that they needed their cartons immediately. So we had to rip open the cartons and pour the contents here and there in the available places and whole house was a mess. We cleared it up to a certain extent but will take a really long time for things to fall into place. While we are struggling with the huge amount of dust that magically appears everyday, there is still a happy feeling in the pit of the stomach, of being in OUR home. All the hard work seems to have paid off. 🙂

While things were going good at this home front, trouble was brewing at the maternal home front. The house actually belongs to my grandfather and had been registered in his name all along. While all his sons and their families have stayed there for different periods of time, over the years. We were the only people who have stayed there all along. We shifted there, when they needed support. My dad and my first uncle spent a lot of effort and money in constructing the top floors. I spent 25+ years there and that has always been the only home for me. The other two uncles who were young then and haven’t spent a dime on its construction or maintenance, now come and demand their share. They are having financial problems for various reasons. They didn’t care a bit for their elder brothers’ advice so far. Now they come and ask my mom to vacate the house, so they can sell it and get their share of the money!:-x It seemed like they were just waiting for a year to be complete since my dad’s death and for the ceremonies to be over, so they could bring this up!

After multiple rounds of discussion and the first uncle holding a strict resolve of not allowing the house to be sold, the matter is now on hold. They have been given options of how their problem can be solved. While we have been insisting that Mom moves closer to us, this behavior of the uncles, has sort of made it obvious that we have the make the move some time soon. What affected us the most was how they picked on each one of us and spoke badly, just because they are in need of money! 😦

Work is being weird as is mostly the case with all my jobs. I wonder how such strange things seem to happen only to me. Well.. It’s a long story, about which I will do a post some day. The work is not interesting or educating and am already bored with it. Apart from that there are certain organizational changes happening in the Business Unit, which includes our project team too. With all this and the commute time which has increased much more, with us shifting, I just feel like quitting all over again!

I haven’t been able to read much or craft much due to all the time constraint. But I was happy to see that I have read a total of 21 books in the year so far and there are so many more in my shelf, waiting to be read. 🙂 Me and sister started crocheting a blanket for each other. She has made a good amount of progress and I am not even through by a quarter. Need to get on with it, once the house is in place.

I have a huge list of unread posts on my Reader, which I have to catch up with. Having no internet connection in the new house is not helping at all!
